Which one are you?
When you are really into your yoga, do you….?
Have a need to read?
Do you want to take notes in class? Research your anatomy to see what’s really moving around in your body, from the nerve signals to the muscles and ligaments? Buy the best rated books on yoga to see the beginning, middle, and advanced versions of your poses? If your need to bend matches your need to know, you are a Ravenclaw yogi.
Crave the highest, most bendy poses?
Are you determined to take that inversion, even though you just started? Is wheel pose just one good shove away from bridge, you’re sure of it–even if your back hurts afterwards? Do you wish to see the world upside down right here right now, and then right after need your toes in the air? If your heart beats faster at the challenge and the adventure, you are a Gryffindor yogi.
Consider how powerful you are getting?
Are you well aware of the mental and physical challenges in life – and your own part in facing them head on? Maybe you love clearing your mind, sharpening your focus so as to better later tackle the making of plans and strategy for imminent issues (yours and others). Perhaps you feel your legs and arms growing strong, the better to outpace your opponents? If your yoga helps you make and enact your plans, you are a Slytherin yogi.
Think about teacher training?
Do you feel yourself getting more sure-footed and immediately see flashes of your mom and her back pain, your friend and her depression, your sister and her struggles with body image? Are you inspired by how your yoga teacher sees you struggling and knows just how to help, supporting your pose with a word and a touch? Do you perhaps see yourself taking on that role? If you want to use your yoga to help others, you are a Hufflepuff yogi.
